A few months back, I wrote about the challenges of following the spiritual path, which more often than not involves long stretches of not being able to see where you’re going or why, climbing and climbing an uphill route with no idea what you’ll find when you get to the top and can finally glimpse the next leg of your journey. Sometimes when you get to the top, you’re no more enlightened: you may find yourself standing at the top of the hill looking down at a fog-filled valley, unyielding and inscrutable.

The curve balls (lessons?) along the way can be jarring and disorienting, making it hard to keep one’s footing and stay on the path—especially the big ones, like divorce or the loss of a job, the ones that really turn your life on its ear and make you wonder, How the hell am I going to get through…

It has been almost exactly a year since I last posted on SpiritualiTea. Although there have been many changes, my overall mission has remained the same: to offer a warm, safe space to explore spirituality (with tea).

What has been going on for me? Well, I became a life coach (yay!), began doing professional intuitive readings, left my job…more on that in a later post. I’m currently living life on my terms and have never felt happier, or more inspired! I began creating other blogs that I thought would perhaps express my new self, but in the end I’ve come back to SpiritualiTea as my home.

I’m excited to begin posting here again with a new voice and renewed passion.

There will be book suggestions, helpful resources, musings on my own spiritual life, and of course tea!

I also have a new feature: I will soon be venturing into the video podcasting world, and I hope to take you along with me! Each week I will post a new video providing an intuitive reading for the coming week’s energies. Grab a cup of tea and sit down with me on Sunday morning to find out what the week will bring for you.

Finally, I have two exciting offerings: the first is an online course that trains you to be a SpiritualiTea Facilitator in your community. Learn how to start a group, keep it going, gain members, find friends, and make a little extra money along the way!

Second, I am offering private intuitive readings by phone or Skype. I would love to get to know you and offer clear, accurate, empowering guidance on any challenges you are currently facing.

It feels good to be back.

Peace,
Shannon

Big news to share! I am getting bigger…well at least in one area! I’m excited to share that I am having a baby! I’m due in April. If you haven’t seen me on the blog lately it has been due to morning sickness (actually constant, all day sickness in my case) and a general busyness and exhaustion. I hope to be posting much more frequently now that the notorious first trimester is behind me.

I am also starting a new online (and in-person) writing service through my new project Creative Writing Connections. Having taught and tutored English, creative writing, and writing instruction for several years, I felt it was time to expand to a larger audience. I am offering guidance for budding creative writers, as well as direct writing instruction for students of all ages and college admissions essay writing help. Although I live in Connecticut, I am happy to work with people all over the world. I have experience working with people who are learning English as a second language, as well as students with learning disabilities. Writing instruction is quite conducive to phone/Skype and email sessions.  Check out my new website www.creativewritingconnections.weebly.com for more information if you happen to be interested!

I love this. Even when we don’t see the miracles around us, we can know that they are occurring anyway. Thank you pathwriter for posting this! It’s exactly what I needed to hear today.

One winter morning I awoke to see magnificent lines of frost stretching across my window panes. They seemed to rise with the sunshine and the bitter cold outside. They looked like little miracles that had been formed in the dark of night. I watched them in sheer amazement and marveled that such beautiful forms could be born during such a winter-cold night. Yet, as I pondered them, I thought of how life is so like that. We live our long, worn days in the shadows, in what often feels like barren, cold winter, so unaware of the miracles that are being created in our spirits. It takes the sudden daylight, some unexpected surprise of life, to cause our gaze to look upon a simple, stunning growth that has happened quietly inside us. Like frost designs on a winter window, they bring us beyond life’s fragmentation and remind us that we…

Over the last three months I have begun work on a book outline for adoption healing. My goal is to write about body, mind, and spirit healing for adoptees so that there is a focus on each crucial aspect of healing. Often books focus solely on the emotional aspects of adoption, but I would like to extend it to a more holistic perspective. I am including personal anecdotes, but would love to hear from others.

If you, or someone you know, is adopted and you would like to share your story with me, please email me at storiesofadoption@yahoo.com

Thank you!

While away on my honeymoon, I found my new favorite tea mug. I have a thing for handleless mugs, and I saw this one made by a local artist and fell in love

As you can see, I’ve been enjoying my daily chai tea from it as well. I love the size and texture of the mug. Having a special mug just for tea can help ritualize your teatime, so that it is not just another moment in the day but a time for relaxation.
